Agreement in Principle
An agreement in principle has been reached by these two unprincipled principals to support the principle that Canadians don't want an election right now on the issue of principles. In principle, anyway.

When I was 5 an election was taking place and I saw a sign that said "Vote NDP". I asked my much older and wiser cousin (who was 7 at the time) what NDP meant. He said Naturally Dumb People. At the time I laughed but as I get older I realize how wise he was.
How can Martin introduce a business tax cut bill, separate from the budget. When Harper suggested that they take the deal for Atlantic provinces out of the budget, Ralph Goodale et al. kept saying 'you can't cherry pick'. Tax cuts are a budget item -- the deal to the Atlantic provinces is more like new policy and should have been dealt with apart from the budget. Martin doesn't mind cherry picking when he thinks it will make him appear conciliatory and co-operative. Cheers, canadianna

Shocking photos of the press conference after the deal took place can be seen on my blog. Check it out.
