It's been fifty days since Paul Martin said he'd call George Bush to discuss the softwood lumber ruling. Fifty days!
The CBC hadn't even been locked out yet, Hurricane Katrina wasn't even on the radar screen, gas prices were still under a buck a litre, John Hamm was planning on a fall election instead of retirement, the Blue Jays were in wildcard contention, most people still hadn't heard of Michaelle Jean and Cindy Sheehan was a minor annoyance.
And still he hasn't called.
Tory natural resources critic John Duncan wonders if he ever will. As does the entire Canadian forestry sector.
Don't hold your breath.
