Three questions about the McGuinty government's proposal to ban high-school dropouts under 18 from getting a driver's licence:
How many more motor vehicle accidents will involve young unlicenced and therefore uninsured drivers?
Will there be any provision made for those under 18 who are leaving high school to enter a trade apprenticeship and need a licence to get to job sites?
Why implement a ban whose effects will only be noticed in rural areas and small towns without public transit as a back-up, while Toronto youths would hardly be inconvenienced?
